The *'Up with People' group arrived exactly at midnight. The huge field of growing corn waved in the moonlight before them. The men left their beat up pick ups and gathered around their leader.

"OK boys. That guy on *the local TV news said those kids saw a fairy in this here corn field. I'm bettin' it's really *Al-Qaida hidin' out and we're gonna find those buggers right quick."

"But what if ain't them Al guys boss?" said Grover.

A look of disgust crossed Boss's face. "Well then, we catch ourselves a fairy and sell it fer a million bucks of course. Now, who's got that *KFC bowl, we can use it for bait ya know."

"Right here boss, I tucked it under my *push up bra for safe keeping...what? Why ya'all lookin' at me like that?"

"Never mind." Boss said quickly. "Okay you all know what to do..*Karl...Rove!"

While the group spread out and began their search, deep within the rows of corn, *Alec the Dalek was humming along nervously.
"I tell you *mustardseed, those kids saw you clear as day. You have to disguise yourself before they find you!"

"Alec dear, I've told you. *Nothing gets me hotter than a rainbow-afro wig, fool!" The fairy gave her metal friend a light punch on his..um..shoulder, even though he didn't really have one, she had decided it would be where she punched. "I can't wear that, I'll sweat too much and all my fairy dust will sprinkle out of my hair."

"Fairy dust!" Alec tried to smack his forhead, spinning in circles because his toilet plunger arm wouldn't reach high enough. "That's it, mustardseed! Use your fairy dust and confuse those guys beyond all hope of finding us."

"Alec, dear," mustardseed tapped her foot, while with arms crossed over her chest, she gave the dalek 'the look.' "Why don't you just use your superior intellect for a change, hmmm? You can fly us out of here, remember?"

Alec stopped spinning for a moment. "Oh dear me, of course I could. How could I forget that?"

mustardseed sighed one more time as she bent down to help the robot back up. She had been sighing a lot lately, since meeting the dalek. Everytime she had pointed out something she thought should be obvious, he had spun around so fast trying to whack his forehead, he kept toppling over.

As they rose up into the night sky, mustardseed wondered what she was to do with her metallic friend. So caught up in her thoughts, she didn't even wonder why that guy below them was adjusting his push up bra. She did make a mental note that the color might look good with her skin tone. Oh well...tomorrow would be another day. Maybe this time, dalek would land them near a mall. She felt like she could use another pair of shoes. All this tramping through fields had made a mess of her maryjanes. She sighed.
