Is vinyl upholstry lead free?

I have some light-weight vinyl upholstry that has a cavas/cotton woven backing. It's durable and does not crack if washed in cold and air dried. I was wondering if I could use this material for making my son some bibs. Is it lead-free. I know I can buy a test/kit to see if it comes positive with lead. But maybe someone out there with experience knows.

Never heard of vinyl containing lead. The use of lead in products was banned like over 15 years ago. Nothing should contain lead by law.

They found out something misakingly had lead in it and they stopped selling it and recalled the sold product. The amount was probably so minute that it's not going to harm anyone unless the person has prolonged use for years. Look at all the lead that was used in everything that millions of people were exposed to and these people are still alive. You're making too much out of it. The product you're talking about probably came from China where they can still use lead.
